Perfex Design Studio release notes

• FixedFix: a saved view with a sort no longer shows "Changed" as soon as it opens. A view's sort and columns are now compared the way the list applies them, so a sort or column the list does not have (a removed custom field, a column another module takes away) no longer reads as a change
• FixedFix: with Perfex's "Save last order for tables" on, opening a saved view no longer replaces your own last sort of the list, and a view saved with the sort you were already on keeps that sort

Saved views

• ImprovedTasks, leads, projects, invoices, estimates, tickets and customers get a bar above the list: All, your pinned views as tabs, every view in a searchable menu, Filter, Columns and Save
• ImprovedA view keeps its filters, the columns shown and their order, the sort and the rows per page, with a name and an icon
• ImprovedPrivate, shared with everyone, or shared with chosen roles and departments; each person pins views as tabs and picks a default view per list

Advanced filters

• ImprovedConditions on the list's fields and its custom fields: is / is not, contains, starts with, before / after / on / between, empty, number ranges, "has any / all / none of" for assignees, followers, members, tags and groups
• ImprovedRelative dates: today, this week, next 7 days, last 30 days, this month, overdue and more, worked out on the day the list is opened; "Me" in staff fields means whoever opens the view
• ImprovedAND / OR groups up to three levels deep and one-tap quick filters (Assigned to Me, Overdue, Due This Week …)
• ImprovedFilters run on the server inside Perfex's own list query, together with Perfex's own filter menu; they only narrow what each person may already see, never more

Permissions and plans

Per-plan design policy (with Perfex SaaS Studio 1.0.1 or later)

• ImprovedEach plan gets a design level: Locked (the platform's look, read-only), Brand (the platform's look with the workspace's own Brand Kit: logo, colours, fonts) or Full (the workspace designs its own look)
• ImprovedArea switches per plan on top of the level: Brand Kit, Themes, Layout & Menu, Login Pages, Website and Custom CSS (Custom CSS stays off unless a plan allows it). Set them in SaaS Studio → Plans → Module Features
• ImprovedInside a workspace, a closed area shows a clear card with what the plan includes and a link to upgrade; the menu entry stays, and staff can always switch light/dark for themselves
• ImprovedDowngrades keep the previous level for a grace period (30 days by default, set in SaaS Studio); after it the lower level applies. Nothing is deleted: themes, Brand Kit, pages and CSS stay stored and come back after an upgrade

Shared module folder under SaaS Studio

• ImprovedDesign Studio writes nothing inside its module folder in a workspace, so SaaS Studio links every workspace to the main install's copy (one folder to update) instead of keeping a private copy per workspace

Fixes

• FixedWebsite pages of a workspace whose plan no longer includes the website builder (after the grace period) are no longer served: the address falls back to Perfex's own home and login page, old page links lead there and the sitemap is empty. The pages stay stored and are served again when the plan allows the website builder
• FixedA staff member's personal theme preview (and editor previews and thumbnails) no longer include Custom CSS when the plan's Custom CSS switch is off, the same rule as the applied theme

Brand Kit (new Studio tab)

• NewOne place for your logo (wordmark light/dark, app icon, dark mark, favicon), colours (primary, accent, neutral with a generated scale and contrast badges), fonts (bundled, system or your own WOFF2/TTF files, self-hosted, no Google calls) and voice & email (brand name, tagline, sender name, reply-to, tone)
• NewPublish Kit sends it into the theme that applies as a new theme revision, so the staff area, login pages, client portal and new website pages follow it; Undo puts the theme back. "Where your kit applies" shows every place that follows the kit or overrides it, with Sync All and Reset to Kit
• NewHistory: every published version of the kit with its date, author and what changed (logo, colours, fonts, voice...); Restore publishes an older version again and syncs it into your theme exactly like Publish
• NewDownload Kit as JSON; other SellMyCode modules read the published kit (pds_brand_kit(), pds_brand_kit_updated)

Theme From Logo or Website

• ImprovedDrop a logo (PNG, JPEG, WebP, GIF or SVG, cleaned) or enter a public website address: the colours and fonts are read in your browser or from the site's own page (private and local addresses are refused, at most 6 readings a minute)
• ImprovedThree suggested themes with light and dark previews, contrast fixes and a before/after view; apply for everyone, try it only on your own account, or open it as a draft in the theme editor. Applying for everyone also publishes the Brand Kit; Undo restores the previous theme and the kit's versions stay in Brand Kit → History
• ImprovedOptional theme name and tagline from AI Staff when it is active

Command palette (Ctrl/Cmd + K)

• ImprovedOn every staff page: search customers, contacts, leads, invoices, estimates, proposals, projects, tasks, tickets and staff (each only as far as Perfex lets that staff member see them), settings pages and quick actions, light/dark, Design Studio and Ask AI Staff; recent items per staff member

Perfex SaaS Studio support

• ImprovedTenants are recognised; the main install shares its look with tenants through Perfex SaaS Studio (no file in the module folder is written, so the folder can be shared). When the SaaS owner has published nothing, tenants use the main look and cannot edit it; a plan can allow tenants to design their own look (design_studio.tenant_editing)
• ImprovedPer-tenant CSS cache and media folders; the client portal theme is built by the main install only when tenants share its views

License

• ImprovedEvery license call (activate, check, pause) now sends Perfex Design Studio's sellmycode.net item id, as the license server requires
• ImprovedA purchase code bought for another product, or an unknown one, only shows "This purchase code is not valid for Perfex Design Studio." and is never activated
• ImprovedAn activation made by an older version with another product's purchase code is paused automatically and removed from this install; enter your Perfex Design Studio purchase code to switch the module back on

License

• ImprovedWhen the site moves to another domain (a new address, a staging or test copy), the license is never activated for the new domain on its own: not when the module is switched on again, not by the scheduled check, not when a page opens. Perfex Design Studio stays switched off until an administrator confirms: the License page and the admin banner say "This site now runs on <new domain>. Activate your license for this domain?" with an "Activate on <new domain>" button. When all activation slots are in use, the page shows sellmycode.net's hint and the Request a Transfer button
• ImprovedThe old domain is never paused from the new one (module deactivation and the Pause button only use a token of this domain); it keeps its slot until the author releases it
• ImprovedPaused, revoked or otherwise invalid licenses: besides Reactivate, "Use a different purchase code" opens a code field on the page. The stored code is replaced only when sellmycode.net confirms the new one; if it fails, the current code stays and the error is shown
• ImprovedSwitching the module on again on the same domain still reactivates the kept purchase code automatically
• ImprovedBlocked licenses: when the author blocks the purchase code (License Blocked) or this domain for it (This Site Is Blocked for This License), Perfex Design Studio switches off on the next check and the License page and admin banner show sellmycode.net's hint with an Appeal / Contact the Author button; Reactivate is hidden, a different purchase code can still be used
• ImprovedThe license is checked every 6 hours instead of once a day, and also when someone opens a Design Studio page and the last check is more than 6 hours old. That check runs after the page is sent (or in the background), so pages never wait for it, and several pages opened at once make one check at most
• ImprovedNew texts in all 9 languages

License

• ImprovedWithout a valid license (not activated, paused, revoked by the author, a code for another product, or no confirmed answer within the grace period) Perfex Design Studio switches off and Perfex looks and works as without the module: the staff area skin, layouts and menu builder, dashboards, sign-in pages, portal styling and the website home page at the site root are Perfex's stock ones
• ImprovedThe client portal theme selection is put back at once (the theme it replaced, or Perfex's own) and selected again when the license is valid again; even a portal theme that is still selected shows Perfex's stock pages
• ImprovedThe public website pages, stylesheets, previews and the recovery link answer HTTP 403 license_inactive (styling is off anyway). Themes, pages, media, layouts and settings are kept; activating the license brings everything back
• ImprovedDocument Studio and Design Studio treat a sibling module without a valid license as not active
• ImprovedEvery Design Studio page answers "License Not Valid" while switched off (other requests get a JSON license_inactive answer with HTTP 403, never an error page); the License page stays under Design Studio › License and Setup › Module Licenses, and administrators see a banner on every page. • ImprovedPausing keeps the activation slot reserved for this domain; moving to another domain needs the author to release the old one (the page shows sellmycode.net's hint and a Request a Transfer button)
• ImprovedDevelopment installs (localhost, *.localhost, *.test, *.local and private network addresses) need no license
• ImprovedDeactivating the module pauses this site; activating it again resumes a kept code; uninstalling pauses and removes the stored purchase code, token and cache. Nothing else is deleted while the license is not valid

Fixes

• FixedReactivating the license from the License page (or a license check on cron) now selects the Studio's client portal theme again in that same step; before, it stayed on Perfex's own theme until the theme was applied again
• FixedWith the Studio's client portal theme selected, estimate, proposal, contract, credit note, payment and statement PDFs (and invoice PDFs without a Document Studio design) failed with an error: the theme now passes PDF templates straight to Perfex's own, and rebuilds its theme folder once after the update

Design system

• NewThemes generated from one brand colour: an 11-step palette in OKLCH for light and for dark, with a WCAG contrast check for every text role (primary button, accent and links, sidebar active, pastel card text, muted text, warning badges) and automatic adjustment when a colour would be hard to read.
• NewPick the brand colour from your logo; "Shuffle tints" for the pastel counters; dark palette generated from the brand.
• NewFour style presets, each in light and dark: Soft Gradient (default), Corporate, Minimal Mono and Midnight (dark-first, light variant included).
• NewBundled fonts (Plus Jakarta Sans, Inter, Manrope with Source Serif 4 headings) or the system font; base size, heading weight, tabular numbers. Nothing is loaded from a CDN.
• NewCorner radius, density, shadow depth, logos for light and dark backgrounds, custom CSS (cleaned: no scripts, imports or outside addresses).
• NewTheme editor with a live canvas of real Perfex pages: screens, desktop/tablet/phone, light/dark, hold to compare with the Perfex default, undo/redo, autosave with conflict detection.
• NewDrafts, published versions, restore and discard; JSON export and import of themes.
• NewStylesheets built once per theme and kept as files in uploads/; normal pages read options only.

Staff area

• NewA per-screen reskin of the Perfex 3.4 staff area: header, sidebar, tables, forms, sales documents and their editors, records, projects and Gantt, kanban boards, tasks, tickets, calendar, reports, setup pages, windows and pickers — 47 screens checked one by one, phone layouts included.
• NewDashboard greeting with the first name and tinted counters (both optional).
• NewScreen Check: every restyled screen, opened as it looks now or with a theme draft (only for you).
• NewLight/dark switch in the header, saved per staff member and kept in step with Perfex Brain Pro, AI Staff, Sentinel, Deliverables and Cash & Capacity (one switch, their charts redraw). Each theme decides whether staff may switch.
• NewOptional personal style preset per staff member (administrator option, off by default).
• NewThe SellMyCode modules' colours mapped onto the theme.

Layouts, menu and dashboards

• NewNavigation styles: sidebar, icon rail with labels on hover, top navigation with mega menu.
• NewMenu builder: groups, drag-and-drop and keyboard reordering, names, 1,799 Lucide icons, colours, badges with Perfex counts, custom links, visibility per role, preview as a role, the Setup menu, history and restore, back to Perfex's own menu. Works after Perfex's Menu Setup module.
• NewDashboard layouts on a 12-column grid for everyone or per role: widget library (Perfex and module widgets), drag and resize, tablet widths, phone visibility, new widgets at the end or off, locked layouts or staff arrangements with reset.

Login, registration and client portal

• NewTen pages in one editor: staff login, forgot, reset, set password and two-factor code; client login, register, forgot, reset and two-factor code. Perfex's own forms stay inside (CSRF, reCAPTCHA, honeypot, hooks).
• NewSix layouts (split with image, card on gradient, glass card, minimal, photo background, video background), five backgrounds or your photo, product picture, silent video, texts per page, rotating testimonials, help line and help box, options for remember me, Create account, language switcher and legal links.
• NewShared look with per-page unlinking; draft, publish and history.
• NewClient registration in four steps with progress and saved entries; registration fields per Perfex's own required fields.
• NewPerfex Sentinel's second sign-in step shown in the same design.
• NewClient portal theme installed as a Perfex customers-area theme (application/views/themes/design_studio): welcome page with amount due and Pay now, projects, proposals, tickets, account manager and files; light/dark; every other view falls back to Perfex's stock view. Selected only while a theme with Client portal is applied; the previous client theme is put back on pause, turn off, recovery, deactivation and uninstall.

Website builder

• NewSection-based pages: 69 sections in 175 variants across 15 categories, inline text editing, picture upload and media library, drag and keyboard reordering, variant switching that keeps the content, background, spacing, alignment and anchors, hide on phones, shared header and footer, site look (preset, brand colour, font, corners, buttons, light/dark/auto).
• NewTen industry templates: SaaS, agency, consulting, corporate, accounting, clinic, construction, education, IT services and real estate; using one adds draft pages only.
• NewPerfex web-to-lead and estimate request forms, prices from Perfex items, knowledge base articles, support links, Appointly booking.
• NewPublish with history and restore; publish a page as the CRM home page (signed-in clients keep their portal); short addresses /p/<slug> through my_routes.php.
• NewSEO title and description, social card, canonical address, noindex and sitemap.xml; cached public pages; X-Frame-Options and Content-Security-Policy.
• NewOptional AI copy through Perfex AI Staff: three suggestions in a chosen tone; nothing changes until you pick one.

Safety

• NewPreview on my account, signed canvas previews, apply with Undo, versions for every publish.
• NewSafe mode per browser (?pds_safe=1, also on the sign-in page), one-time recovery link that works without signing in, kill switches (DISABLE file in the module folder, PDS_SAFE_MODE in app-config.php); any error while theming falls back to the default Perfex look.
• NewHistory of every apply, publish, restore, import and safety action; events in Perfex Sentinel's audit log when installed.
• NewPermissions: Design Studio (view, edit drafts, publish and apply, safety and settings) and Design Studio: Website (view, edit, publish); Custom HTML for administrators only.

Platform

• NewInterface in English, Spanish, Portuguese (Brazil), French, German, Italian, Dutch, Turkish and Russian.
• NewPerfex SaaS tenants: own themes per tenant, or the main site's theme pushed to every tenant; shared-database tenants are left untouched.
• NewNo Perfex core file or my_ view changed. Uninstall removes the module's tables, settings, generated files and the portal theme folder after putting the previous client theme back.
• NewReplaces the unreleased 0.1.0 preview: its tables and settings are removed by the installer.
